Lorry driver rams into roadblock


ALOR GAJAH: A 26-year-old lorry driver who was allegedly high on drugs rammed into a police roadblock at the Simpang Ampat toll plaza here.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said the incident occurred at 1.30pm on Tuesday when police officers were manning the roadblock to check vehicles during the ongoing conditional movement control order period.

“No one was injured. The driver has been detained and handed over to the Narcotics Department.

“Urine test conducted on the driver showed he was positive for methamphetamine, ” Supt Arshad said yesterday.
