Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pic) said the affected areas were Sungai Emas Flat on Jalan Emas 31 and 32 in Kuala Langat and Plaza Hentian Kajang in Hulu Langat.

He said the National Security Council was briefed by the Health Ministry that the number of areas classified as red zones had increased.

“We were also informed of the situation in these two areas, and on the advice of the Health Ministry, the council agreed to implement the enhanced MCO until Nov 10, ” he said on Tuesday (Oct 27).

The enhanced MCO on Sungai Emas Flat involves seven blocks of flats and terrace houses and some 1,300 residents.

Meanwhile, 7,500 residents would be affected in the Plaza Hentian Kajang area.

Ismail Sabri said the existing enhanced MCO standard operating procedures applies, such as residents can only leave the area for emergency and death cases, all schools, mosques and places of worship remain closed.

Economic activities will also not be allowed.

Food supply would be distributed to the affected residents by the state disaster committee, he said.
