PETALING JAYA: Water supply has been restored in six of the seven districts affected by water cuts due to pollution in Sungai Selangor.
In a statement, Air Selangor said as of 3pm on Tuesday (Oct 20), the water supply to 97% of affected areas in Kuala Selangor has been restored.
It added that 88% of affected areas in Hulu Selangor and 70% of areas in Petaling have had their supply restored.
Air Selangor also said that Gombak, Kuala Lumpur and Klang/Shah Alam districts are also slowly regaining their water supply at 52%, 29% and 8% respectively.
It added that only Kuala Langat has yet to see any areas regain their water supply.
This is a total of 715 areas with an overall of 55% from the total of 1,292 areas since water treatment plants at the Sungai Selangor phase 1,2, 3 and Rantau Panjang began operating at full output capacity on Monday (Oct 19).
Air Selangor said that 577 areas are still in the process of restoration and expects the water supply to be restored to all remaining areas by 8am on Friday (Oct 23).
