GEORGE TOWN: Both the Nine Emperor Gods and Navarathiri festivals which begin today are expected to be low-key celebrations, with temples observing strict standard operating procedure (SOP) in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Jelutong, only 150 devotees are allowed at the premises at any one time throughout the nine-day celebration.
