PUTRAJAYA: A village in Baling, Kedah, will be placed under conditional movement control order from Sunday (Oct 18) after 25 of its residents tested positive for Covid-19.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 1,150 residents from Kampung Padang Che Mas will be involved in the order which will be until Oct 31.
He said the National Security Council was informed by the Kedah state government on the situation in the village where to date, 236 people were screened and ordered to be quarantined.
“With the conditional MCO enforced, residents of Kampung Padang Che Mas will not be allowed to leave their homes and there will be no movements in and out of the area, ” he said on Friday (Oct 16).
Ismail Sabri also listed down other standard operating procedures to be followed by the residents, including permitting only two per household to go out for food and other essentials.
Grocery and convenience stores can remain open until 6pm while food stalls and restaurant operating hours are until 8pm.
All activities and gatherings will not be allowed, and schools are to remain closed until the order is lifted.
