Man arrested for punching fireman tests positive for drugs


KAJANG: A man who punched a firefighter on duty in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn has tested positive for drugs, say the police.

Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan confirmed this when contacted on Thursday (Oct 15).

"On Oct 15, the police received a report regarding a firefighter who was punched by the suspect while extinguishing a car fire along Jalan Suakasih, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn.

"The incident at 10.40am saw the suspect trying to get into the area and get to his car.

"He said that he was the owner of the car that was on fire.

"The firefighter on duty there instructed the man to calm down and to cooperate but he became aggressive and threw a punch.

"The man was apprehended by both firefighters and members of the public," he said.

Investigations showed that the suspect works as an event organiser.

The suspect will be remanded on Friday (Oct 160 at the Kajang court.

A video of the incident shows the man running and shouting after throwing the punch. He was apprehended shortly afterwards by on-duty firefighters and people at the scene.
