Felda Umas in Tawau to be under enhanced MCO from Oct 13 until 26

PUTRAJAYA: Residents of Felda Umas in Tawau, Sabah, will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (MCO) from 12.01am Oct 13 to contain the spreading of Covid-19 in the settlement.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the order, which will be in effect until Oct 26, will involve 17,549 residents.

"The enhanced MCO is necessary to contain the Covid-19 infection while health authorities will conduct targeted screening on residents," he said on Monday (Oct 12).

Ismail Sabri said residents will not be allowed to leave their homes and all entry and exit routes will be closed and manned by enforcement authorities.

"The state government will supply food to the affected residents," he said.
