PETALING JAYA: Five Tropicana Golf and Country Resort (TGCR) employees have tested positive for Covid-19, says its management.
In a Facebook post late Saturday (Oct 10) night, the TGCR management said two out of the five employees had not stepped onto the premises since Sept 17 after they had returned from Sabah.
The duo were tested positive during their quarantine period on Oct 2 and 4, respectively.
The remaining three, comprising one field worker and two non-customer-facing employees, who were identified as close contacts also tested positive during their self-quarantine period at their hostels.
"Further to this, all close contacts of these affected employees have tested negative but are still undergoing mandatory 14-day quarantine period," said the TGCR management.
It added that it has carried out a detailed contact tracing exercise to identify employees and external stakeholders who had been in close contact with the affected employees.
Apart from that, TGCR said employees and stakeholders who have been in close contact will be notified immediately and are required to undergo self-quarantine for a fortnight and seek medical assistance should they display symptoms.
"The management of TGCR remains steadfast in managing the current situation and prompt updates will be provided to all employees and stakeholders involved," it added.
TGCR said its hostel, which is not on its premises, will undergo thorough sanitisation and disinfection in accordance to the Safety and Health Guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.
"Meanwhile, TGCR and other premises are not affected by this exercise will continue to operate as usual," said the management.
Earlier on Saturday, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had said an enhanced movement control order (MCO) will be imposed on the workers' hostel at TGCR for two weeks from 12.01am Monday (Oct 12).
Ismail Sabri said the lockdown order would not cover the clubhouse or residential units.
