Sunway Pyramid confirms outlet staff tests positive for Covid-19

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Pyramid has confirmed that a staff member from an outlet in the mall has tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday (Sept 26).

They said that the staff had a history of travel.

Sunway Pyramid said that the Health Ministry has also reached out to those who have had close contact with the patient, and have been ordered to do screening and self-quarantine.

“We would like to assure all tenants, vendors and customers that the case is an isolated case, and has been attended to immediately upon identification, together with the affected tenant in full compliance with the Health Ministry's guidelines, ” they said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

They added that they have carried out and completed deep cleaning, thorough disinfection, as well as sanitisation throughout the premises.

They said they would increase the frequency of such processes on a daily basis.

“We have also been working closely with the affected tenant to coordinate holistically the completion of deep sanitisation work, as well as securing timely and accurate updates to address the matter effectively and efficiently.

“The mall and its personnel have been trained to apply the highest standards and protocol for hygiene and sanitation, in accordance with the MOH safety and health guidelines on Covid-19, ” they said.

They also encouraged all visitors, tenants and our communities to remain calm and vigilant, as well as adopt good personal hygiene practices.
