Announcement thoughtless and poorly timed, says Wan Saiful

PETALING JAYA: The timing of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement is inappropriate as it shows that he does not respect the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the economic challenges facing Malaysians, says Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan (pic).

He said Anwar’s announcement showed that he had forgotten about the people’s plight.

“The whole country knows that the King is currently receiving treatment at the National Heart Institute. Additionally, people are facing economic challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Our focus should be to pray for the health of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and to look after the welfare and well-being of the people.

“It is a very inappropriate time to create any political problems in the country, ” he said in a statement.

Wan Saiful said it was ironic that on the day Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced measures to help the people, Anwar has chosen to undermine the nation’s stability.

He said all MPs and Bersatu machinery supported Muhyiddin in focusing on efforts to revive the economy and help the people.
