PUTRAJAYA: The Education Ministry is looking into whether schools are to remain open, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the ministry is looking into the matter, and is expected to make a decision soon.
“Whether schools are to be closed or only allow students in exam classes to come to school, the ministry is weighing in on this and will make known its decision soon,” he said on Thursday (July 30).
Ismail Sabri was asked if the government is looking into allowing students to continue to go to school, following a case in Sabah where a primary student was tested positive for Covid-19.
The student was found to be Covid-19 positive on July 27, after he sought treatment at a government health clinic here.
Health authorities have ordered for classmates and family members of the boy to undergo mandatory quarantine.
