Confirmed: Art Harun resigns as EC chairman

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun (pic), who is tipped to be the new Dewan Rakyat Speaker, has resigned as Election Commission (EC) chairman.

A statement issued by the EC stated that Azhar's resignation was effective from June 29.
