MAS offers 20% discount for students, teachers and lecturers from July 9 to Aug 10


PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) offers a 20% discount on domestic flight tickets to students, teachers and lecturers who will be returning to schools and campuses soon, announced Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Senior Minister (Security) said this came after his discussion with the airline’s chief executive officer Izham Ismail who agreed to come up with this promotion for these groups of individuals.

“I would like to express my deepest appreciation to Malaysia Airlines’ management team for offering discounts to ease the burden of students, parents, teachers and lecturers as schools and varsities reopen.

“I hope that other airlines will also bring down their fares to ease travels, ” he said on Wednesday (July 8).

Teachers and lecturers attached to public and private institutions of higher learning will enjoy a 20% discount if they book MAS flights from July 9 to Aug 10.

The discount will be valid for travels from July 10 to Nov 30.

The discount can be used for online reservations by inserting the promotion code which will be announced via the Education and Higher Education Ministries.

Ismail Sabri said for students who need to take a flight to return to schools or campuses, a 20% discount will be given to them through the MH Explorer programme, where they can register as members via MAS’ official website.

The lower fare can be enjoyed until Nov 30 or until their MH Explorer membership expires.
