Covid-19: 15 new cases, death toll remains at 121

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 15 cases on Monday (June 22), taking the total number of infections in the country to 8,587.

Of the 15 cases, two are imported cases involving Malaysians who were infected with the virus abroad, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah at the ministry’s Covid-19 press conference here Monday.

All of the 13 local transmission cases involved non-Malaysians, Dr Noor Hisham added.

Dr Noor Hisham also said 21 cases have been discharged, which means 8,177 patients have recovered from Covid-19 since the outbreak began.

Malaysia’s Covid-19 recovery rate is now at 95.23% out of the total number of positive cases.

There are now only 289 active cases left being treated at health facilities nationwide.

Currently, there are two patients treated at intensive care units (ICU) and none are on ventilator support.

Dr Noor Hisham announced no new deaths, which means the death toll remains at 121 cases.
