Covid-19: 8 new cases; one death, bringing total fatalities to 121

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded eight new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (June 14), bringing the total number of infections to 8,453.

Health Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah (pic) said of the new cases, two were imported involving permanent residents in the country.

He said the other six cases involved local transmissions, with two involving Malaysians while the other four cases involved non-citizens.

At the Health Ministry press conference, Dr Noor Hisham said that there was one more death from Covid-19 in the country, taking the death toll from the coronavirus to 121.

The death involved a 67-year-old Indian national who had a history of diabetes, hypertension, heart and kidney issues, he added.

He said that 35 patients have recovered and been discharged, taking the total of those recovered and discharged to 7,346 individuals, accounting for 86.9% of the total number of cases.
