Selangor Deputy Speaker Daroyah Alwi quits PKR

SHAH ALAM: PKR deputy women's wing chief Dr Daroyah Alwi has left the party.

Announcing this in a press conference at a hotel here on Saturday (June 13), Dr Daroyah said it was a very difficult decision for her as she has been a party member since PKR's inception two decades ago.

"This decision was made because I have lost confidence and trust in the party president (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and leadership who have lost track of the party's struggles idealism, as well as the party direction which has led to the party breaking up.

"The party president and his followers are perceived as having failed to have met the trust of the majority of party members who had selected them," said Dr Daroyah who is also Selangor Deputy Speaker.

Also with her were all the Kapar division leaders as well as some Selangor PKR women's wing leaders who followed suit in resigning from the party.
