Covid-19 update: 30 new cases, death toll remains at 115 for eight consecutive days

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 30 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (May 30), taking the total number of infections to 7,762 cases.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said out of 30 cases, three were imported.

Out of 27 new cases that were transmitted locally, only 10 involved Malaysians.

The country saw no Covid-19 deaths for the eighth consecutive day, keeping the death toll at 115.

Dr Noor Hisham also said 95 more patients have been discharged, which means 6,330 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in Malaysia since the outbreak began.

Malaysia’s Covid-19 recovery rate is now at 81.5% out of the total number of positive cases.

There are now 1,317 active cases being treated at the country’s health facilities at present.

Currently, there are nine patients treated at intensive care units (ICU), with two of them on ventilator support.
