Ismail Sabri: Enhanced MCO for Selayang Baru extended

PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order (MCO) for Selayang Baru in Gombak has been extended, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said on Tuesday (May 12) that this extension is to allow the Health Ministry to conduct Covid-19 testing on residents in the affected area.

"Once the tests have been completed, we will announce the end of the enhanced MCO. This is expected to take a few days," he said.

On April 26, the government announced the enforcement of an enhanced MCO in Selayang Baru.

Ismail Sabri also announced that the enhanced MCO for the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market and Pusat Bandar Utara in Kuala Lumpur has been lifted.

He said this is because the health authorities have completed conducting Covid-19 screening on all residents in these areas.
