Another drunk driver crashes into roadblock


AMPANG: Another drunk driver has crashed into a roadblock here following a similar case earlier in Kajang in the early hours of Sunday morning (May 3).

No injuries were sustained by on-duty personnel, the driver or his passenger.

"At around 4.30am, a team stationed at the Jalan Besar roadblock noticed a car speeding towards them erratically.

"The team tried to signal to the car to stop but it crashed into a road cone.

"Two men, aged 29 and 33, were found to be drunk. They claimed that they were on their way home to Taman Kajang Utama.

"Both have been arrested and remanded until May 5" said Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Noor Azmi Yusoff in a statement.

Earlier on the same day, a police corporal on duty died after a suspected drunk driver crashed into him at a roadblock in Kajang.

The victim has been identified as corporal Safwan Muhammad Ismail.
