IN an attempt to help Malaysians affected by Covid-19, singer Liza Hanim (pic) started a charity programme Sing For Fund, reported Berita Harian.
The initiative began on April 24 and will last until May 7.
The event was supported by 10 other artistes, namely Aishah, Siti Nordiana, Ernie Zakri, Syamel, Haiza, Idayu, Lan Solo, Han Byul, Kai and Dini.
Through the programme sponsored by LS Media, which is owned by Liza herself, viewers will be able to catch the performances on www.liveframe.my and make donations from as low as RM5 towards the cause.
Liza, 40, said she mooted the idea while chatting with her husband over a Zoom video call.
“We can’t afford to donate huge sums of money and decided to create a charity programme.
“I hope the proceeds can help families facing hardship while they are fasting, ” she said.
> The daily also reported that Ahmad Shafie, better known as Rahmat Rabbani, a member of nasyid group Rabbani, has come forward to share his struggles recently.
Ahmad said he had been struggling to get gigs since the start of the year and was dealt another blow when his wife Norazlina A. Rahman, 48, fell in the bathroom last month.
“Doctors confirmed that my wife is paralysed from the waist down due to the fall, ” he said.
Ahmad said Rabbani was no longer getting calls to perform, hence losing his main source of income.
> Baki Zainal’s talents were not limited to just TV as he would be making use of the time under the movement control order in the kitchen, perfecting his favourite recipes, reported Harian Metro.
“With plenty of time now at home, I will brush up my culinary skills with my mother’s recipes. Nothing beats your mother’s cooking, ” he said, adding that he had plans to include 30 of the recipes in a book.
