PETALING JAYA: Starting April 6, national broadcasting station Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will air educational programmes on a special channel called TV Okey during the movement control order (MCO).
The Educational TV programme slot aims to provide students with access to learning materials through alternative platforms besides online learning during the extended MCO, the Education Ministry said.
It is an effort by the Education Ministry and Communications and Multimedia Ministry.
“Broadcasting will start on April 6, for two hours daily, between 9am-10am and 1pm-2pm.
“This way, students who do not have Internet access will not miss out on teaching and learning, and can still follow it at home through their television, ” the ministry said in a statement on Saturday (April 4).
The programme can be viewed for free through MyFreeview channel 110 and is available on Astro channel 146 and Astro NJOI.
Students with Internet access, the ministry said, can visit https://myklik.rtm.gov.my/
“We hope this effort will be fully utilised by students, teachers and parents to ensure that students’ learning process will continue effectively even under these challenging conditions, ” the ministry said.
The schedule is available at the Education Ministry’s official portal at www.moe.gov.my or on their social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
