Only one person allowed out

PETALING JAYA: Only the head of the family is allowed to go out to buy daily necessities and medication during the 14-day movement control order (MCO), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof (pic).

Fadillah, who is also Works Minister, said that under the MCO, only one person – the head of the family – would be allowed to go out to get basic necessities or medication.

However, he said if there were more than one person, then they would need to explain themselves to the police.

He said the police would then use their discretion.

“As per the guideline, only one person is allowed.

“But if there is a reason for more than one person to go out, such as a death in the family, then they need to explain it to the police.

“I urge you not to leave the house. Only go out when you have to. When you’re out, follow the guidelines set by the Health Ministry.

“Wash your hands, watch your health and make sure you practise social distancing, ” he said during a live telecast of his press conference over RTM yesterday.

Fadillah said this was to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and ensure the public were protected.

He later clarified that a representative of a family could also go out to buy basic necessities.
