Covid-19: Alleged tabligh participants show up for screening at Titiwangsa clinic

PETALING JAYA: Large numbers of people, allegedly tabligh participants, are showing up at a clinic in Kuala Lumpur for Covid-19 screening.

They were seen sitting inside a long line of cars at the Klinik Kesihatan Titiwangsa, while health officials dressed in full protective gear attend to them.

The Health Ministry has yet to confirm the incident.

Earlier Sunday (March 22), Markaz Dakwah & Tabligh Malaysia said there were some 500 tabligh participants who had yet to undergo health checks, contrary to reports stating that there were 16,000 who attended the convention at the Sri Petaling Mosque from Feb 28 to March 22.

The government has called on for everyone who attended the gathering last month to come forward voluntarily for Covid-19 screening

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also said that illegal immigrants should not be worried about facing the law over their status as the government has agreed not to make it an issue due to the need to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.
