Covid-19: PLUS worker at Ebor toll plaza tests positive

PETALING JAYA: PLUS Malaysia Bhd confirms that one of its staff members working at the Ebor plaza toll has tested positive for Covid-19.

The staff member, who is a customer relations assistant, is currently being treated at a government hospital.

PLUS has also ordered all staff members who had close contact with the individual to get health checks, tests and be quarantined.

"At the same time, PLUS assures that all disinfecting and cleaning work has been carried out at the toll plaza," PLUS said in a statement Wednesday (March 18).

PLUS also noted that the Ebor toll plaza entrance, heading towards the Elite highway, would be temporarily closed from 12.10am until 11.59pm on March 19 for cleaning and sanitising work.

"Customers from Shah Alam, Batu Tiga, as well as other surrounding areas heading towards KLIA, Putrajaya, and the south are advised to enter the Elite highway using the Shah Alam or Seafield toll plaza during the temporary closure," it said.

PLUS also would like to take this opportunity to urge all highway users to adhere to the movement control order (MCO) which was issued to curb the spread of Covid-19.

"The best way is through social distancing and avoid packed public places. All Rest and Service (R&R) areas will only allow takeaway of food and all of its dine-in food areas have been temporarily closed to stop the public from gathering.

"Muslims users are also urged to bring their own prayer items, such as prayer mats and shawls when using R&R surau facilities," said PLUS.

It also urged patrons purchasing food to keep a one-metre distance at least between individuals when queuing.

"Only one individual per car is allowed to go out and purchase food at any of the food outlets at the R&R on behalf of the other passengers," added PLUS.
