UTHM postpones all activities, gatherings after staff member tested positive for Covid-19

JOHOR BARU: Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) will be postponing all students’ activities and gatherings at both its campuses in Pagoh and Parit Raja, Batu Pahat until March 31 following a positive Covid-19 case involving its staff.

In a statement, the university said it was informed by the district health office on March 14 (Saturday) that a staff member was undergoing treatment at Hospital Permai here and was in stable condition.

“All information will be given from time to time and UTHM has searched for all close contacts of the staff member, who had been screened on Sunday (March 15), at both campuses.

The statement also said that the close contacts will only be allowed to work from home after a decision is made by the district health office.

The statement also said all teaching and learning activities at Pagoh campus would be postponed for a week until March 19.
