KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan claims to have 114 votes in support of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as Prime Minister.
In a Facebook Live broadcast, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the 114th vote came from Selangau MP Baru Bian.
The Facebook live broadcast of the Pakatan Harapan closed door meeting showed Baru signing a statutory declaration witnessed by Dr Mahathir.
Baru's vehicle was later seen exiting the premises but left quickly when journalists started chasing after it, hoping to get comments from the former Works Minister.
This comes about four hours after Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to the appointment of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the eighth Prime Minister.
Dr Mahathir is expected to issue an official statement on the matter after the meeting.
Earlier, Parti Amanah Negara deputy president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub claimed Pakatan had 112 SDs signed in support of Dr Mahathir as prime minister and hoped to have another audience with the King to prove the claim.
