Indonesian telco tower climber detained for immigration offence

SIBU: The Indonesian man who created a scene by climbing up the telecommunication tower at Bukit Memaloh in Kanowit and refusing to come back down for 30 hours has been detained for illegal entry into Sarawak.

Kanowit OCPD, Supt Tega Bilong said on Wednesday (Jan 22) that the man, Pandy Bujang, will be investigated under Section 6(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 after he was found not to have a valid travel document when entering the state.
