Authorities addressing human-wildlife conflict


Opening soon: The 72.9ha Kampung Panti Elephant Sanctuary at Jalan Lombong is expected to be fully operational in early June this year.

KOTA TINGGI: Besides doubling as an eco-tourism draw, state wildlife authorities are hoping that the newly-developed elephant sanctuary here will act to address the human-wildlife conflict in the area.

Johor Wildlife and National Parks Department director Salman Saaban said the 72.9ha Kampung Panti Elephant Sanctuary along Jalan Lombong was expected to be fully operational by early June.
