MMEA detains Singaporean tanker for anchoring without permission in Penang waters


GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained a Singaporean tanker along with its 20 crew for anchoring without permission in Penang waters.

Penang MMEA director Kapt Hamizan Harun (pic) said patrol boats were deployed immediately after receiving reports about the tanker, which was anchored 26 nautical miles west of Muka Head.
