Duo arrested over brawl at Brickfields restaurant

KUALA LUMPUR: Two men have been arrested by police for allegedly fighting at a restaurant in Brickfields here.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin said the incident occurred between 7.30am and 8.30am on Jan 1.

"We received three videos of the fight through WhatsApp.

"The videos were forwarded by an unknown person and had gone viral," he said in a statement on Sunday (Jan 5).

He said based on investigations, the two men, who are cousins, got into a heated argument over a family issue.

"One of the suspects used foul language which caused the argument to flare up into a scuffle.

"Their family members who were at the scene managed to break up the fight.

"The two suspects were arrested and their statements had been taken to help with investigations," he said, adding that the case was investigated under Section 160 of the Penal Code.
