Malaysian family of five hurt in road accident in Egypt

PETALING JAYA: A Malaysian family of five were involved in an accident in Egypt, says Wisma Putra.

The victims suffered various injuries during the road crash, which occurred at about 11am (local time) on Saturday (Dec 28).

"They were on their way to Hurghada from Cairo.

"They were rushed to the Suez Canal Hospital and Children Hospital in Cairo for treatment," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 29).

The Malaysian Embassy in Cairo is currently providing consular assistance to the victims, the ministry added.

"We will monitor their situation from time to time," it said.
