MELAKA: PKR Wanita chief Haniza Mohamed Talha tells the wing members not to be “bullied” by their male division chiefs.
“The party constitution clearly gives the women’s wing the autonomy to make decisions. The male division leaders have no right to cancel any programme initiated by the wing in their respective areas, ” she said in her winding-up speech at the wing’s congress.
Haniza, who is also Selangor’s Lembah Jaya assemblyman, said male division leaders did not have the right to decide on programmes arranged by them.
She made it clear that the women’s wing should not be exploited “by leaders (division leaders) within the party who have their own personal agendas”.
Haniza also called on the women leaders and members to arm themselves with knowledge about the party constitution and the latest happenings in the country.
Earlier, she said the party’s affairs had returned to normal as president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy, Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, had met to put aside their differences.
