All quiet at venue of 'second PKR congress' in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no sign that an 'alternative PKR congress' is taking place at a five-star hotel here.

Checks with the hotel management found that there were no events on Saturday (Dec 7) linked to the "Kembali Ke Landasan Reformasi Rapat Keadilan Perjuangan" event supposedly planned by those who support PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

When contacted, PKR Youth vice-chief Mohd Nazree Mohd Yunus also said that there was no such gathering taking place despite saying on Wednesday (Dec 4) that it was on.

Azmin, who is currently in Melaka at the PKR National Congress, had also said on Thursday (Dec 5) that there would be no other gathering except for the official ongoing congress, which ends on Sunday (Dec 8).

On the same day, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim issued a stern warning, saying that those attending the parallel gathering would be sacked and that he would not tolerate saboteurs of the PKR National Congress.

However, it is believed that there are still plans for a dinner programme on Sunday night (Dec 8) at the same hotel here in the capital.
