Education Ministry investigating video of pupils singing Negaraku in Mandarin

PETALING JAYA: The Education Ministry is investigating a viral video of primary school pupils singing a Mandarin version of the national anthem Negaraku.

The one-minute, 23-second clip has been viewed over 6,500 times since it was uploaded on social media on Friday (Dec 6).

The ministry said it had taken note of the incident and was conducting an investigation into the matter.

"The ministry will not compromise with any party that is attempting to go against the Federal Constitution regardless of whether the act was intentional or otherwise," it said in a press statement on Friday.
