MELAKA (Bernama): PKR members who were responsible for creating chaos at the Youth’s wing national congress will be expelled, says PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said such insolent behaviour cannot be let off without any action taken.
"I have received a report of the incident at the 2019 PKR Youth (AMK) congress. I have asked the party disciplinary board to sack those responsible for it,” he said in a statement Friday (Dec 6).
Anwar also called on the police to investigate and take the necessary action against those involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, PKR communications director Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil said a report of the chaotic incident at the AMK congress held at the Melaka International Trade Centre will be brought to the PKR Central Leadership Council (MPP).
He said a post-mortem of the congress will be held to determine the issues faced in organising the AMK and women’s wing congress, including the facilities for the media, and a report will be submitted to the MPP.
"We will discuss the matter and improve by providing the most suitable facilities after this,” he told Bernama while commenting on the chaos which occurred after a group of Youth members were not allowed to enter the hall which was full.
He said PKR Youth left it to the party disciplinary board to take action on the matter.
Meanwhile, Youth head Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said every Youth member should look after the party’s good name and avoid personal issues which could affect harmony in the party.
"Do not provoke and cause chaos. Our MPP members also do not want any chaos. We regret the chaos that occurred as it affects the good name of the Youth and PKR,” he said.
