KUALA LUMPUR: A 50-year-old man was detained for allegedly issuing a death threat against DAP Adviser Lim Kit Siang.
Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed said the suspect was arrested in Temerloh, Pahang on Tuesday (Oct 22).
"He has been remanded until Thursday (Oct 24) to assist with investigations.
"We are investigating under Section 506 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," he told a press conference on Wednesday (Oct 23).
He added that the investigation paper will be forwarded to the Attorney-General's Chambers, once police have wrapped up the investigation.
DAP Socialist Youth (Dapsy) lodged a police report last week on a Facebook user, who issued a death threat against Lim.
