PUTRAJAYA: Preachers appointed by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) cannot deviate from the true teachings of Islam as they are bound by the department’s guidelines.
Jakim director-general Datuk Mohamad Nordin Ibrahim said its 50,000 preachers or “murabbi”, which include imams, bilals as well as Fardhu Ain and Kifayah (Kafa) teachers were of high integrity.
