Haze: 220 schools, higher learning institutions in Tangkak, Muar to close Sunday (Sept 15)

TANGKAK (Bernama): Some 220 schools and institutions of higher learning in Tangkak and Muar will close Sunday (Sept 15) as the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings here breached the "very unhealthy" mark Saturday (Sept 14).

The API for Tangkak, released on the Environment Department's website, entered the ‘unhealthy’ category at 7am Saturday with a reading of 203, and stood at 208 at 5pm Saturday evening (the API monitoring station in Tangkak covers a 35km radius, spanning both the Tangkak and Muar districts).
