Police inspector, family threatened by group during dinner

KLANG: A police inspector from Bukit Aman and his family were allegedly threatened by a group of people while having dinner at the Pandamaran Sports Complex.

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Shamsul Amar Ramli said that the district police had received a police report by the officer on Sunday (Sept 8).

"I confirm that we have received the report from the officer at the Pandamaran police station.

"Preliminary investigations showed that there were no elements of gangsterism and that there were no injuries," he said when contacted Monday (Sept 9).

He added that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding between the officer and a non-governmental organisation.

Investigations are still underway to identify the exact motive.

"A man has been remanded for one day to assist in the investigation. The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation," he said.
