Health advocate: Kuan uses relevant social platforms to engage followers to raise awareness about the event and on leading a healthy lifestyle.

GEORGE TOWN: After 41 years since its inception, Penang Starwalk will have digital influencer Christinna Kuan as it first ambassador.

Kuan, better known as @ms_kuan, is a fashion, lifestyle and beauty blogger, and founder of Christinna.K and UFCO Global.

Kuan, who has over 280, 000 followers on Instagram and 15, 000 subscribers on YouTube, said she was excited to be Penang Starwalk’s maiden ambassador.

“I remember joining Starwalk not too long ago in secondary school.

“At that time, my school sent us there in two buses and I joined the walk with my classmates.

“It was fun, and now I feel equally excited to be the event’s ambassador, ” she said at her shop at Promenade in Bayan Lepas.

Kuan said she would use relevant social platforms to start engaging her followers to raise awareness about the event and on leading a healthy lifestyle.

“I will use these platforms to deliver messages to my followers, targeting those between 15 and 30 years old as they are mainly the ones who are digitally active.

“This will be a great opportunity to get them involved in a healthy activity, ” said Kuan, who will make an appearance at the event venue at Gurney Drive.

Organised by Star Media Group Bhd, Penang Starwalk 2019 will be held on Sept 22.

Gurney Paragon Mall is the venue provider while the platinum sponsor is YTL Communications Sdn Bhd.

The silver sponsors are Indofood (M) Food Industries Sdn Bhd, Wiitrac Elevator Sdn Bhd, Health4U Solutions Sdn Bhd, F&N Beverages Marketing Sdn Bhd, Penang Turf Club and Ewein Zenith Sdn Bhd.

Registration for StarWalk closes tomorrow or after 20, 000 people have signed up, whichever comes first.

Walk-in registration can be done at The Star Pitt St in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling or Star Northern Hub in Bayan Lepas, from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. Online registration can be done at sites.thestar.com.my/starwalk/.
