IPOH: Police will wait for instructions from the Attorney General on the next course of action over the alleged rape case involving a Perak executive council member.
The investigation papers, which were sent to the state prosecuting director yesterday, would then be brought up to the AG’s Chambers, Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain said.
“We obtained the reports from the Chemistry Department and hospital on Monday.
“The investigation papers will be sent to the state prosecuting director and I believe the director will bring it up to Putrajaya. We will wait for a decision,” he told reporters after the monthly state police contingent gathering here yesterday.
It was reported that a 23-year-old Indonesian maid had accused state exco member Paul Yong of raping her last month.
The police had sent the investigation papers to the state prosecutor’s office only for them to be returned due to the lack of forensic and medical reports.
Meanwhile, on the heist by four armed masked men who robbed two men of jewellery worth about RM1mil earlier this week, Comm Razarudin said “investigation is ongoing”.
The robbery at Taman Chateau here involved two suspects in a lorry ramming into a car, which is said to be transporting the jewellery, before robbing the victims.
