Perak cops to send investigation papers on exco's alleged rape case to AG's Chambers on Aug 7

IPOH: Police investigation papers on the alleged rape case involving a Perak executive council member will be sent to the Attorney General's Chambers, after reports from the laboratory and hospital have been obtained.

State police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain (pic) said they would first send the documents to the state prosecuting director's office before sending it to Putrajaya.

"We will send the investigation papers on Wednesday (Aug 7).

"We obtained the chemical and medical reports from the laboratory and hospital on Monday (Aug 5), " he told reporters after the monthly state police contingent gathering here on Wednesday.

"We will wait for feedback from the state prosecuting director on the next course of action, " he said.

It was reported that a 23-year-old Indonesian maid had alleged that state exco member Paul Yong raped her last month.

The police had sent the investigation papers to the state prosecutor's office, only for it to be turned back due to the lack of the forensic and medical reports.

An online news portal had then misreported that the two reports were "missing", only to be denied by Comm Razarudin.
