Cop arrested for stealing female officer's undergarments


KULAI: Police arrested a 28-year-old police personnel for allegedly stealing his female officer's undergarments at the Kulai district police headquarters housing barracks along Persiaran Indahpura 4 here.

It is learnt that the suspect, who is a constable, was detained by the Kulai police Criminal Investigations Department team, after he allegedly broken into his female colleague's home on Friday (Aug 2).

The suspect was arrested within the housing barracks where he resided, following a report lodged by the victim at around 2.30am when she found someone had trespassed into her home and stole her undergarments.

It is also learnt that the victim, who is a corporal at the district CID headquarters, also assisted in the investigations after she found several unknown sandal prints in her home and bedroom.

According to a source, the victim had lodged sexual harassment report last month.

Police also seized 12 panties, two bras and a pair of sandals.

It is also learnt that the married suspect, whose wife works together with the victim, admitted to have stolen the undergarments and also entered the victim’s house several times.

The source also said that police were investigating if the sexual harassment case was linked to the suspect.

The suspect is being remanded until Aug 5 to assist with the investigations under Section 451 of the Penal Code for committing trespass.

Meanwhile, Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow confirmed the arrest and said the police would not compromise with anyone that was found to have commit a crime.
