Lawyer: Obvious signs of bids to bring down Azmin

PETALING JAYA: There are signs of organised attempts to derail Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali’s political career, says his lawyer N. Surendran.

“There are obvious signs of organised and systematic attempts to discredit and bring down Azmin with these false and malicious attacks.

“The perpetrators had accessed to leak personal data of party members, sophisticated means and a clear political agenda,” he said in a statement.

Surendran confirmed Azmin was called by the police to have his statement recorded on Monday following a police report lodged by his political secretary Hilman Idham over the circulation of a sex video linked to him.

“He wanted to give the statement as soon as possible. It was done in his office in Putrajaya on Monday immediately after scheduled meetings.

“We trust the police will get to the bottom of this, identify and take action against the culprits according to the law,” Surendran said.
