Azmin’s aide: Haziq admitted it is a conspiracy

PETALING JAYA: Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, the man in the centre of the sex video saga, has purportedly told an aide to Datuk Seri Azmin Ali that he is a victim of a dirty political game to bring down the Economic Affairs Minister.

One day after declining to reveal the details of the meeting which took place at Marriott Putrajaya, Azmin’s political secretary, Muhammad Hilman Idham issued a statement yesterday saying that during the meeting Haziq told him the video was fake.

“In the meeting, Haziq told me that he has become a victim of a dirty political game to bring down Datuk Seri Azmin Ali,” Muhammad Hilman alleged in the statement.

“He also said that the video was fake and denied being a character in the video,” he said.

Muhammad Hilman, who is also Gombak Setia assemblyman, also claimed that Haziq asked for his opinion on informing his parents about the matter.

“I agreed (that he should speak to his parents) and told him to be patient.

“In fact, I advised him that in these accusations, the family is the most important element and he has to maintain his family’s feelings and dignity,” he said.

He lodged a police report at the Putrajaya district police headquarters yesterday claiming that Haziq had filed a false report, which he said was a criminal accusation.

On Thursday, Muhammad Hilman admitted meeting Haziq at the Zest Restaurant in Marriot Putrajaya on June 11 before the sex videos were leaked, but declined to reveal details of the meeting.
