Rafizi denies he played any part in sex video scandal

PETALING JAYA: PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli (pic) has denied any involvement in the sex video scandal implicating party deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.

"I have informed reporters that I do not want to get involved because it is repulsive.

"It has made the rakyat hate politicians and PKR is smeared as well. Which is why I do not even want to comment," he said on his Facebook page Friday (June 14).

This comes following claims that the sex videos were leaked by certain parties within PKR who were unhappy with Azmin.

Sabah PKR Youth deputy chief Blission Zainuddin held a press conference on and implied that Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz had close links to Rafizi.

Rafizi and Azmin were considered rivals as they had previously been at loggerheads when vying for the party deputy presidency last year.

Rafizi, on the other hand, vehemently denied Blission's statement.

"(Blission's) statement tried to give the impression that I masterminded the sex video episode," he said.

He said that Haziq was never close to him and that he was the first to question why Haziq, who had previously quit the party, could stand in the party's youth wing elections.

He added that Haziq, during party elections, also supported Selangor PKR Youth chief Najwan Halimi, who is aligned with Azmin.

Rafizi also posted a press statement by PKR Youth vice-chief Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman, which slammed Blission for hinting that he was behind the scandal.

"I hope after this people will stop dragging me (into this scandal).

"Leave this matter to be investigated thoroughly by the authorities," he said.
