Haziq's family lying low amidst frenzy over sex video

KUCHING: The family of Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz is keeping a low profile in the frenzy surrounding a viral sex video.

Family members are said to be in the dark about what is going on and are leaving it to the authorities to investigate.

It is learnt they were shocked when Haziq confessed on Wednesday (June 12) that he was one of the persons in the lewd video that went viral the day before.

According to a relative, the family do not think he is the person in the confession video after looking at his size and facial expression.

They also do not believe he is gay as they know him well.

Haziq, the senior private secretary to Deputy Primary Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, claimed that he was one of the two people in the video.

He claimed that the video was filmed without his consent in a hotel room on May 11 during the Sandakan by-election.

He has since been suspended by the ministry and given three days to reply to a show-cause letter.

Azmin has denied his involvement in the sex video, calling it a plot to end his political career.
