KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad says he met Attorney-General Tommy Thomas to discuss the Taman Rimba Kiara issue few weeks ago.
“I cannot tell you the details but I have met him. He was prepared for the Taman Rimba Kiara case. He told me his opinion on the case, so I noted it," said Khalid
“I spoke to him about my sedition case; I asked why the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) is appealing the decision of the court that ruled there was no sedition. He said he will look into it," he added
Khalid said this when met at Masjid Jamek Kampung Baru on Tuesday (May 21) and
declined to comment further
“Wait and see,” he said.
Commenting on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigation into the project, Khalid said to let them do their job.
“If the MACC finds there is illegality, the MACC must inform the AGC and then the AGC has to study the strength of the case.
“If the AGC is convinced that it is strong, the case will be brought to court. The court must declare that the project is illegal, and not anyone else,” he said.
Khalid said he was in the midst of finalising the documents to be tabled before Cabinet to finalise the decision.
