Anwar meets with Sultan of Brunei to discuss bilateral cooperation

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has met with Brunei’s Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah to discuss ways to bolster cooperation between the two countries.

“Sultan Hassanal and I touched on various efforts to increase collaboration between the neighbouring countries, and also spoke on the need to understand the latest developments in the two countries.

“The effort and initiatives to raise the quality of education were also put at the forefront (of the meeting) and discussed,” he said in a tweet on his official account.

The PKR president had met Sultan Hassanal for an hour-long meeting at the Nurul Iman palace in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei, on Tuesday (April 16).

On March 5, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had also held a meeting with Sultan Hassanal during the Malaysia-Brunei Annual Leaders’ Consultation framework.

The two parties had previously expressed their satisfaction at the continued collaboration between Petronas and PetroleumBrunei.
