Before land clearing, public hearings will soon be essential, Parliament told

KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Government wants public hearings to be held before forest reserves can be degazetted for clearing, says Natural Resources Deputy Minister Tengku Zulpuri Shah Raja Puji.

This is one of the conditions the Federal Government intends to get state governments to adopt following a move to amend the National Forestry Act.
